Enjoy East African Cultural Safari in Zanzibar Islands

By Andrew Muigai

The Island of Zanzibar is world famous for romantic vacations. The archipelago is however an equally important East African destination for cultural tours. Dr Livingstone's house, the Arab fort, the old stone town streets, the house of wonders, and the people's palace are some of the top cultural travel areas in Zanzibar.

Zanzibar culture has been largely influenced by the many traders and invaders who came to the Island in the course of its history. The Omani Arabs, the English, and the Portuguese are some of the communities that have influenced the culture in Zanzibar. Some festivities in the Island - such as Mwaka Kogwa (celebration of the Persian new year), Sauti za busara, and the Zanzibar international film festival - portray this mixed cultural heritage.

Sauti za Busara, Swahili for sounds of wisdom, is East Africa's premier music and cultural festival showcasing the best Swahili speaking world has to offer. The event that is held every February in Stone Town's Old Fort sees the historical town becoming a beehive of activity. Sauti za Busara hosts bongo flava (a popular music genre in East Africa) stars, ngoma dancers, taarab orchestras and drumming troupes.

The festival is very popular with the local population and is one of the annual highlights in Zanzibar's new approach to market itself as a leading global cultural tourism destination. As well as bringing international visitors to the islands, the event provides artists from the Swahili-speaking world with a rare opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, learn from each other and create. The sixth edition of Sauti za Busara was held on 12-17 February 2009 and the event drew artists from many parts of the world including West Africa, Europe and Australia.

The other cultural event in Zanzibar is the Zanzibar international film festival (ZIFF), held every July. It is the largest cultural festival in East Africa, presenting an amazing variety of international music and dance, art exhibitions, theater arts, film and video. The film festival had its 10th anniversary in 2007.

The festival has continued to attract larger and larger crowds each year and gaining international prominence. ZIFF is especially giving a unique opportunity to preserve and promote understanding of culture from across the Dhow countries of Tanzania, India and Oman.

The last week of July sees the village of Makunduchi celebrate Mwaka Kogwa, the Persian New Year. The festival is a riot of colour, filled with rituals and fun. During this festival, men are given the chance to mock fight each other with banana stems to clear any past dispute for the new year. Women on the other hand dress in their best clothes and sing songs about family, love and life.

Traditionally, the key event of the festival is when participants burn down a hut to mark the end of the old year, and the beginning of a new one. The people believe that this guarantees the village's safety from fire throughout the year. It also purges evil amongst the land and its people. Much feasting, drumming, dancing and singing till dawn follow this ritual. The locals then extend great hospitality to everyone. It is believed that any resident who does not entertain a guest at that time will attract bad luck upon their household.

The above cultural festivities have earned Zanzibar an international reputation as a center for African cultural heritage. Getting to Zanzibar can be by sea or by air. Several international airlines operate flights to Zanzibar, including Air Mauritius, Ethiopian Airlines, Gulf Air, and KLM (with Kenya Airways). Visitors can get scheduled and charter flights from Dar es Salaam, as well speed boats for a sea trip to Zanzibar.

Car Insurance: Why Acquiring it is so Critical

By Jessica Moore

Car Insurance is something that you need if you own a car. When you go to register your car and get your license plate you must show proof of auto insurance. There is a good reason that there is car insurance. If nobody had insurance and somebody hit your car, who would pay for the damages? Should you have to pay for something that is not your fault?

If you are buying a car you have to have full coverage on it, because if the car were to get totaled then you would still have to pay for it, with full coverage auto insurance it will be covered in full. When you go to get a license plate for your car, in most states you have to show proof of car insurance. It is just good sense to have it.

A good policy should cover anyone who is in your car, the other car and its passengers, and any property that is damages like someone's yard or property. You should also get uninsured drivers coverage, because if an uninsured drive hits you, then you can still get medical care covered and get your car fixed or replaced, and the insurance company will go after the other driver.

You can help to keep your insurance premiums down by taking extra precautions such as installing a car alarm and a wheel lock. You can also park in a locked garage. Having airbags also brings down your premiums, and so does power locks. If your car is a sports car expect to pay more, and trucks also normally cost more to insure than a sedan.

Older cars can be harder to insure, I am talking about the old classics that you restore, the reason is they do not have all of the safety features that the modern cars do, and the parts are often harder to find and cost more. A brand new car may cost more at first because of replacement value, but as they depreciate so will the auto insurance.

Another way to keep insurance costs down is to get all of your insurance needs covered by the same company. If you have your home owners policy, other vehicles and life insurance through the same company you get a multiple policy discount. If you keep a good driving record you premiums will often go down after a few years.

Sports cars can cost more to insure, because they have more power. It costs more to insure new drivers. If you are a good driver with a clean driving record that you're insurance should go down as your policy continues. Be sure to search around for the best coverage for your money.

Children Off to Summer Camp in Minnesota

By A Former Camper

Summer Camp in the North woods of Minnesota is more than the pristine beauty of lakes, forests and eagles flying overhead. To me, Summer Camp is another home with another family. But camp isn't just any family or any home, Swift Nature Camp is a special home.

Why is it so much more? It is filled with encouragement, love, acceptance, and real friends that will be part of your camp memories for life. Your counselors are great people to look up to they act as parents, older siblings and more. You may even end up looking at them as siblings. Your Uniqueness is celebrated and Acceptance is everywhere. This is what makes Swift Nature Camp place that i can not wait to return to each summer.

When you're not on canoe or backpack trips and just at camp, there is so much to do, you can never fit it all in. Other fun activities to do at camp are archery, swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, and riflery. I loved being active all day. What is real neat is rather you are a beginner or an expert in an area its ok. The counselors help you get better. All activities are noncompetitive and so we all support each other, rather than worry who is best.

I'll never forget the great out of camp trips we took like the Superior Hiking Trail. What an adventure! I loved being in the of the forest. overlooking Lake Superior. The wildlife was wonderful too we saw hawks, bald eagles, & deer. This is why I love Summer Camp in Minnesota

Life in a cabin is about learning from others and with others. It is becoming a team of understanding. Sure, sometimes we had our fights or minor issues, but almost always they were resolved and we grew closer as a team for them.

The Nature Center is a great place to learn about Nature and the beautiful environment of the North woods. We always have fun this is not school. The animals in the zoo are fun to take care of, especially since my mom, back home, will only let me have a cat. It is kinda like being at an animal camp.

I'm returning to Swift Nature Camp for all these reasons. I love camp and hope to be a Counselor in training when I'm sixteen and then a counselor when I'm eighteen. So, I'll see yawl in the North woods of Minnesota this summer!

Technology Infos - The photo features of the new iPod video

By Mike Mahrer

The small device has improved significantly since the last models launching and the main evolution is represented by the capacity of playing videos.

Still, the new iPod video is not all about watching movies or music video clips, as it has various improvements since the last model, different accessories and improved capacities. As the producing company Apple claims, regarding the evolution of the product: Witness the evolution of the revolution. First it played songs. Then photos. Then pod casts. Now iPod plays video.

IPod video, just like the previous generations of iPods, can import photos in digital format from either a camera or a card reader. One of the best options for these is the Apple Camera Connector, which works with both a camera and a USB card reader. Still, the usage of the Apple Camera Connector or Belkin Media Reader (for the other generations of iPods, excluding the iPod video, which is not compatible with Belkin) might cause the intense usage of the battery of the iPod, as well. With the USB 1.1 camera, the battery remains half charged after the procedure. While transferring the pictures with the UBB 1. camera, the iPod shows the thumbnails of the imported images.

The new iPod video provides some options for the photo album, due to the high quality of the images and pictures. These can be rated or they can form slideshows and a major plus this fact that the new iPod video provides full-size thumbnails of photos.

Another characteristic of the 5th generation of iPods which is connected with the photo feature is the large color screen that this version of the iPod provides. The screen is the largest-yet display which was created since the appearance of these items on the market. Even more, the screen shows sharp texts and optimized brightness; so long titles can be read easily. Due to this fact, the photos are large and sharp, as well. Even though the company Apple advertises the new battery life (which became 20 hours from 16 hours of the last model of iPods), the battery runs down quickly if the backlight is on. Still, the backlight is not necessary in most situations, as the text is readable and the images have a good visibility in sunlight or in intense indoor light.

The photo importing and saving feature of the new iPod video has significantly changed in comparison with the last model of these devices, which lead to a better response from the public and a more optimized device. With the new range of importing and saving pictures, the video iPod presents improvements in this domain, together with the obvious improvements in the video processing. The Apple company symbolizes the capacity of the new iPod video, mentioning that the new device can store up to 15 000 songs, 25 000 photos and up to 150 hours of video.

Take A Tour For Your Summer Vacation

By John Bakers

Every year, many families start out on their question to take a summer vacation. Some families enjoy the summer months for vacation, while others do not enjoy this particular season. Determine which type of family you are when it comes to travel.

Not Traveling?

There are many reasons why some families are not able to take their family vacation. It may be because of the cost associated with traveling. This is a mistake though, because you do not have to take an extravagant trip to enjoy time together. Your summer vacation can be anything that you want it to be, including a camping trip to your local park, the nearby amusement park or a trip around the globe. Each of these is a different type of tour you can enjoy.

Other families do not take a family vacation because they are unable to make the time to do so. During the summer months, summer vacations are a popular choice because the families can break away from the hectic lives they lead. Perhaps you cannot get away for a full three weeks, but stringing together just three days can be helpful. The fact is that making time for a summer vacation is important and offers plenty of benefits.

Benefits Of Being A Tourist

There are many benefits to enjoy with a summer vacation. The time that you both spend together is one of the most important benefits. Most families simply do not have time to spend together during the busy week. With long hours and all of the busy schedules your family keeps, it is easy to see time fly by without a lot of family time. A summer vacation can help you to get this time and enjoy each other.

Relaxing is an important part of a summer vacation too. Even children need time to relax and get away from the hectic busy lives that they lead and the piles of homework that they have. With sports and the pressure to work hard, there is no doubt that the relaxation that comes from a summer vacation is important to them and much deserved by them. All families enjoy relaxation including you and your spouse. Parents have plenty of stress with work and their family lives. There is no doubt that problems often arise and things need to be done. With a summer vacation, relaxation offers time away from all of this.

Pick a destination for travel together. A summer vacation location that is right for everyone in the family will offer plenty of activities that they will enjoy. Each person, including the children, feels important. They will appreciate being an important part of your decision process. Many activities can be selected. Instead of avoiding your summer vacation plans this year, be a tourist and travel throughout the world, or your local area. Just get out of the house together, as a family. Everyone can enjoy spending time together with a family vacation. Plan one for your family.

Cheap Auto Insurance Companies

By Vincent Harper

With the way the economy is going today, a lot of people have begun to rethink their expenses and cut-back on discretionary spending, hoping to keep as much of their hard-earned dollars securely in their pockets for as long as possible. Car insurance wise, many are starting to re-evaluate the amount of money they're paying, and you're probably one of them!

So how does one make for a more affordable insurance policy? Finding the best auto insurance company would certainly help. But did you know insurance rates actually vary between individuals? What one person can get cheap, the other may not. This is due to the many factors (such as age, credit, and driving history to name a few) carriers consider when your rates are computed. So it's crucial that you know how to maximize your chances of getting the best auto insurance company for YOU.

There are many auto insurance agencies that can help you in finding low cost auto insurance, but did you know that there is actually a more efficient and convenient way to do this? Going to the Web for car insurance has become a very popular alternative for a lot of people who may not have the luxury to spend time calling up insurance agents, or having to meet with brokers. Car insurance portals are a plenty, these are dedicated websites allowing the everyday consumer like you and me access to the latest rate quotes, which was only available through agents/brokers a few years back.

It works easily enough; you put some basic information in, such age, zip code, car type/model etc. and you run a free search. The insurance portal gets the latest rates available in your area, and tries to match this information to what you're looking for. You then get a listing of all the insurance rates available, and at this point it would be very easy to compare offers and identify the company that is most friendly to your price-range. So if you're thinking of switching to a cheaper insurance policy, car insurance portals are the way to go.

Mulberry

By Jacob Owen

You very seldom find medlars today other than in really old gardens. If they are grown they are usually planted as ornamental trees because they produce large flowers something like a wild rose. It is possible to buy the trees as bushes or pyramids but they are usually planted as half-standards or standards.

The medlar will put up with the normal cultivations done, for instance in a vegetable garden.

The fruits are of a peculiar shape, being brown, round, flattened and with a crown of leaf segments and calyx. No special research has been done on the root stocks but empirical knowledge seems to show that for the half-standard, or standard, the common pear stock is best. Where the tree is to be planted on sandy or dry soil the Crataegus or White Thorn stock is excellent, but where medlars are to be grown in heavy clay soil a quince stock.

The medlar will also grow in a sward which is kept mown regularly and the grass clippings allowed to pass back to the sward.

Wait until the fruits have been touched by the frost and then pick them during a nice clear day after the middle of November. Two weeks after storage the fruits will start to soften and may turn yellow. They may be eaten as dessert or may be made into jelly or `cheese'.

Once the trees are established, little or no pruning is necessary. In fact, one has to be careful about sawing out large branches because they can bleed extensively. It is better, therefore, to prune as advised for medlars. Mulberries seem to be just as happy whether they are grown in cultivated land or in a grass sward. On cultivated land there must be no deep digging or forking for fear of injuring the roots.

Replacing Fuel Filter and Pump

By Sheikh Kassim

The engine is protected from damage by a fuel filter that has been maintained in perfect condition. The carburetors as well as the injection fuel are also shielded from clogging by tiny particles. The one engine component recommended to be replaced at least yearly on average commuter vehicles is the fuel filter. This replacement is effected in just a few minutes and one good way on how to replace a fuel filter is to avoid skipping the important fuel system pressure release.

The fuel filter is recommended for replacement after every 60,000 miles covered. It is easy to replace but a messy process resulting from gasoline spills. To access the fuel filter a car is raised a bit as it is located on the right side of the car right in front of the rear tire. Disabling the fuel pump is a good way on how to replace a fuel filter for it reduces the amounts of gas falling on ones head. Fuel flowing from the filter to the engine is blocked by a clogged fuel filter.

The engine is starved without a fuel pump. There are several steps followed on how to replace a fuel pump including working in an open area that is well ventilated. Replacing an electric fuel pump is easy and one is required to have a fire extinguisher, socket set, replacement fuel pump, new fuel line, flat head screwdriver, open end wrench set, Philips head screwdriver and a large fuel catch container. The electric fuel pump produces high fuel pressure when supplying the electronic fuel injection system with pressurized fuel.

The fuel pressure is required to be released first before removing the fuel pump and its associate parts. Another way on how to replace a fuel pump is by disconnecting the negative terminal in the battery as a method of eliminating sparks. The fuel pump is easily located if it is mounted under the car as someone can slid underneath the car to unscrew bolts that usually hold it in place. It drops slightly for everything needs to be disconnected for it to come off its insulating sleeve.

Those fuel pumps that are mounted within the fuel tank have to be removed from the inside of a car. The in-tank is accessed from under the carpet with the access panel in the truck or it is alternatively accessed from under the back seat. Disconnecting the fuel lines is another way on how to replace a fuel pump. The hose clamp holding the pressure side in is loosened and the fuel lines removed. The high fuel pressure remains present even after turning off the engine.

Once you have decided where to stay when you visit Alaska, you will have to find activities to do once you arrive. The perfect outdoor vacation includes hiking, rafting, and enjoying the beauty that is the Alaskan wilderness. Even if you don't want to spend your entire vacation outdoors, you will be amazed by how much there is to do. Because transportation can be difficult in certain parts of Alaska, learning as much about your options as possible will help you find the best rental car deals, ferry times, and other means of transportation.

Alaska can be the perfect travel destination if you enjoy participating in outdoor activities. If you prefer to stay indoors, there are many restaurants, bars, and social areas in your hotel for you to read, talk to other people, and relax by the fire. With so many options, everyone you travel with will be able to find something to do. Visiting Alaska is the dream of many who want to see what it is like living in a different climate. Those who live in Alaska are friendly, but reserved and enjoy their privacy.

When booking a trip, you should decide which activities you want to participate in once you arrive so you can bring the right clothing and other supplies. Depending on how long you plan on staying, you may find that packing light is best, especially during a long trip. The time of year you choose to travel will also impact the types of activities you decide to participate in. Because Alaska has six months of sunlight and six months of darkness, the activities you want to participate in may not be offered.

Preparing yourself for extreme light and dark is important when traveling to Alaska. Many people do not even realize until they arrive that they may not see the sun while on vacation. If you are sensitive to the sun or the lack of sunlight, make sure you research the time of year you travel to Alaska. Many resorts and hotels have dark curtains so you can sleep at night when the sun is shining, but other than that, it will be up to you to make the adjustment. The longer you stay, the more your body will begin to accept this change. Make sure you stay active and enjoy Alaska regardless of the season.

Why the Garmin Forerunner 305 Outruns its Competition

By Christopher Loch

Although it was released two years ago (which is like 20 years in the electronics industry) the Garmin Forerunner 305 is still the best all-around wrist mounted GPS device for outdoor athletes.

Wrist mounted GPS units work similar to similar to the kind you use in your car except instead of telling you where to go, wrist mounted GPS units tell you where you've been and how much further you have to go. Adding location based data to the usual training metrics is able to give your workout a whole new added dimension (literally!).

The early wrist mounted GPS units were ridiculously bulky and way too conspicous to actually wear while training. They didn't become reasonable until Garmin, the lead dog in the GPS industry, came out with something people would actually be seen training in public with. The Garmin Forerunner 305 was smaller than anything anyone had ever seen before and tech savvy athletes quickly embraced the new technology. Although Garmin has since release a newer and even smaller version (the 405) most GPS-wearing athletes prefer the 305.

In fact, the Garmin Forerunner 305 consistently outsells the 405 on Amazon.com where 667 users have given it a higher ranking than the 405. Besides being almost $200 cheaper than the 405, the Garmin Forerunner 305 is a better product too. Most of the reviews for the 305 start with lines like:

"Great Tool"

"Awesome!"

"The Garmin 305 Rocks!"

Here's why outdoor athletes prefer the Garmin Forerunner 305:

1. large high-res screen is highly customizable

2. fast satellite acquisition time

3. ease of use out of the box

Sure, it's an unnecessary toy that plenty of athletes trained just fine without, but I highly recommend using the Garmin Forerunner 305 to help make your training more exciting again.

World of warcraft warlocks: the power houses of wow

By Shane Fenham

This World of Warcraft Warlock guide merely skims the surface of what it is to play this powerful class. In WoW folklore they were once Mages, or Shamans in the case of the Orcs, that have turned to darker more demonic arts.

Warlock possess the casting powers of Mages and can also inflict huge pain and damage over time, also known as DOT using slow acting curses. This practice is also referred to as giving "debuffs", a term referred to a spell that is none too beneficial to the player receiving it. Warlocks are master debuffers.

Not only can they use these debuffs effectively but additionally, as part of their arsenal, they have demonic summoning powers allowing them to summon demons they can enslave as minion. This makes them similar to Hunters who use pets to help them in close and long range combat.

It has to be said that this is definitely not an easy class to master due to its wide range of casting abilities that need split timing decisions to be deployed effectively, while at the same time having the extra responsibility of controlling pets or minions. But it is an extremely rewarding class to play as they have the reputation as being the PvP powerhouses thanks to their huge stamina and their Crowd Control powers that is on a par with the of the Mage, making them lethal at making any adversary totally ineffective and vulnerable during combat.

If power leveling is your bag, the warlock multi target abilities allows them to have the highest XP rate in the game, making them shoot up the levels all the way to 70 incredibly fast.

As said this world of warcraft guide on warlocks only skims the surface on what they can do. Their use of Soul Shards to summon and then enslave minions is an example as well as their teleporting ability which allows them to teleport fellow members to the location they are.

What makes this class so appealing is that they have such a great range of abilities that you can pick from. This gives them great versatility and suit a plethora of playing styles. In fact, there are entire on line communities that only concentrate on warlocks scattered in all corners of the internet.

Almond Trees

By Evan Roberts

As the cobnut is really a type of filbert-which has the husk shorter than the nut-I am dealing with them both under one heading. These nuts grow well on almost any soil, though they probably do best on light land because under such conditions they make less strong growth, with the result that they crop better.

There are, however, two types of almonds: the bitter almond and the sweet almond. The latter is nonpoisonous but it may only have a faint nutty taste. It is the bitter almond that is much liked in almond icing and marzipan.

For generations nuts have been given organic manures only, and the usual plan is to apply well-rotted compost or old farmyard manure all over the ground round the trees at the rate of one good barrow-load to 10 sq. yards. Some people like to fork this in lightly but it is better not to disturb the roots. Each February meat and bonemeal can be given at 3 oz. to the sq. yard.

Nut trees should not be sprayed in the winter with a tar-oil wash, but because of the ravages of the nut-weevil, which hibernates as a grub and emerges in May to lay its eggs in the soft nutlets, it does seem essential to apply a 5 per cent D.D.T. dust to the trees during the first week in June, before the weevils probe the nutlets to do their feeding.

The varieties Prunus amygdalus macrocarpa and Prunus amygdalus dukis produce practically no hydrocyanic acid and they have a mild nutty flavour, being quite innocuous.

The laterals, or one-year-old side growths, are then cut back by half and the leaders by about a quarter. All the spindly short laterals should be retained because it is on these that the bulk of the fruits are borne.

Informative Booking Decisions

By Ray Walberg

In order to save money when traveling on an air plane, there are several things you can do. If you belong to a frequent flier club and you want to cash in your points when taking a vacation, you can do so to save money on the flight. Check the rules about using your points and make sure you book your flight within the allotted time so you can receive your free ticket. Many times, families will be able to save money on a few tickets by using these points. Contact the airline if you have any questions.

Another way to save money when booking a flight is to book them online. There are many touring sites online that offer special deals when you book flight through them. You can save even more when you book at least six months in advance. Online sites also offer discounts on rental cars, hotels, and other services when you are traveling. Make sure you review each site in order to find the best deal possible. Many times traveling during the off season is a great way to save money when you want to take a vacation be it to Sydney, Australia or Elche, Spain. Not only will you save money, but you won't have to worry about tourists.

Booking your flight directly through a travel agent or airline can save you money as well. You will be able to save on booking fees on flights you need right away. In order to save money, you should book the flight immediately after finding out how much it costs. This will help you save money on flights you need to book within the next week or so.

Taking a later flight or booking one during the week instead of on the weekend is a great way to save money. Because gas prices are on the rise again, you should select a compact or economy car when renting a vehicle. This will save you money on gas during your trip.

When you need to save money while on vacation, you will need to be creative. Instead of eating small meals throughout the day, you should have a large breakfast, a lunch, and a smaller dinner. If your hotel serves a continental breakfast, you should take advantage of it because they are usually free. Eating when on vacation does not mean you should not experience new foods and places to eat. But when on a budget, you should be able to have great food without having to spend a fortune.

Saving money when traveling isn't always easy. But when you are smart about researching your options, you should be able to find ways to save money and enjoy your next vacation for less. When you save money, you will end up feeling less stress and be able to enjoy your vacation even more. Many people who travel when on a budget are able to save money and still have a great time. Not every vacation needs to cost a fortune.

Low Cost Car Insurance

By Franz Brezick

Times are becoming increasingly harder, and this recession, as analyst and experts say, is not going away anytime soon. This is why everyone needs to know how to scrimp, or even totally avoid, on unnecessary spending. We all know that auto insurance is a necessity, however, there is no reason why we can't take a careful look at the policies we have, and find out ways on how we can keep our money IN our pockets instead of OUT to pay bills.

To make the most out of your auto insurance rates and policy, here's an effective auto insurance guide to help minimize costs without sacrificing essential coverage to you, your passengers, and your vehicle:

1.Make discounts work for you. A majority of car insurance companies offer generous discount options to their customers; some are state mandated while others are exclusive. The discounts you get depend on what you're eligible for.

2.It would be more effective to peg you deductible at a higher amount to enjoy lower premiums, just don't make it too high or you might not be able to file a claim in the future.

3.Learning to avoid accidents and being eligible for more discounts are two good reasons why you should take a defensive driving course.

4.After-market safety and security devices, once installed on your vehicle, may also bring costs down.

5.Streamline your insurance policy. This means removing redundant coverage, and those types of coverage you don't even realistically expect to use in the future.

6.Your carrier may reward you with lower prices if you choose to pay yearly in advanced.

With just a few smart auto insurance guide and simple steps, you can be on your way to saving a lot of precious dollars, especially in the long run, with just a little bit of effort and time invested on your end.

UK to Paris

By Tom Martens

Most flights from the UK to Paris land at de Gaulle, not Orly, International Airport. The main carrier offering the most flights to Paris from the UK is Air France. There are also flights to Orly and Beauvais. Orly is closer to the center of Paris that then other two airports, but there are fewer inbound flights from the UK. Beauvais is 65 miles from Paris, compared to Orly's nine. No matter which airport you use, however, there are many shuttles and other means of transportation between the airports and the city and even ways for you to catch connecting flights at different airports.

Paris is the capital of France and one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world with about 45 million tourists visiting the City of Light each year. It doesn?t matter what your tastes are or how you enjoy spending your time because there is truly something for everyone in Paris.

Paris lies along the banks of the Seine River in the north of France. The city has a population of approximately 2.2 million, but the greater metropolitan area has more than 12 million inhabitants, as is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in Europe. Fortunately for Parisians and tourists alike, the public transportation system of Paris is extremely well developed, and the famed Metro is quite easy to use. There are also busses and taxis, and, for visitors staying in the city itself, it is easy to walk along beautiful streets, although visitors should use caution crossing them. The climate of Paris is relatively mild year-round, but there are occasional weather extremes. Rain is common, but snow is rare.

Paris is divided into districts, with the most well known districts being the Champs Elysees and the Place de la Bastille. Perhaps one of the most famous tourist attractions in Paris is the Eiffel Tower. The tower was built in 1889 as part of the Universal Exposition and was supposed to be temporary. However, the Eiffel Tower remains standing and millions of visitors enjoy the view from the tower each year. Other popular tourist spots include the Notre Dame cathedral, the Louvre art museum, the Sorbonne, the Pantheon church and the Invalides museum, which is the burial place of Napoleon. The Louvre enjoys over eight million visitors a year, while the Notre Dame welcomes over 12 million visitors. You can see famous works of art at the Louvre, such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Paris is also famous for its beautiful parks and gardens, including the Left Bank Luxembourg Garden and the Tuileries Garden.

Paris is world famous for its French cuisine. Chefs focus on using fresh, local ingredients to make some of the best dishes found in France. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, including cafes and fine dining establishments and everything in between. You will not be disappointed.

And if the history, the museums, the food, and the art of Paris are not enough, you can even make a trip to EuroDisney.

Now when I got to J signs I had no idea what Vehicle Wraps where, Duncan was more then happy to teach me a little about Wraps.Duncan was working on a Mini Van while I was their placing a wrap on it for a pet care company. Wraps feel almost like a vinyl bumper sticker But of course they are much more state of the art and High tech then that. Duncan had to go to school to learn all about wraps,He also has a Bachelors in fine art,Computer Graphics Specializing in 3-D Graphics. He showed me how the wraps come off in large sheets and then are apply to the Vehicle in pieces and are then heated so they bond to the Vehicle seamlessly. Wraps will stay on till you want to take them off , a wrap can be removed in the future so if you can sell your vehicle one day with out the wrap on it. The paint under the wrap will be as good as the day you placed the wrap on it.

This is just one thing that sets Vehicle Wraps apart from having your Vehicle air brushed! another is the detail of the wraps you get! Become a better horseback rider with these tips.

By Race Nelson

Whether you like to go horseback riding as a relaxing hobby or a sport, your clothes should be comfortable. Riding clothes or equestrian clothes are made for horseback riding but most comfortable long pants or long sleeve shirts will do. The most important thing you should wear when you go horseback riding is a helmet or riding helmet that is made specifically for horseback riding so you will have good protection for your head; these are just some of many horseback riding tips.

Equipment such as a saddle, saddle pad and bridle needs to be comfortable so your horse feels at ease. A saddle should be level in the middle but the best way to tell if a saddle fits is by girthing it up and riding the horse. The main purpose of a saddle pad is to protect the horse from irritation from the saddle. Too much padding can cause excess pressure on the horses spine and nerves. Metal bridles can cause pain to the horse so make extra sure the bridle you use fits correctly. A bitless bridle is a great option and they are natural, lightweight and very comfortable.

Balance is important for you and the horse when you go horseback riding. It may throw the horses balance off easier if youre not balanced properly. One way to do this is watch your posture and make sure your upper back is straight and your lower back is relaxed. You can do exercises on the horse to improve your balance. Exercises off the horse such as squats will also help build your strength and balance. It is important to use these horseback riding tips regularly if one is to truly master the art of horseback riding.

The reins are used to let your horse know what you want to do. Never handle the reins roughly by jerking them or you could hurt your horse. Pull on them as gently as you can. Horses can jerk short reins out of your hand so make sure they are long. Following these horseback riding tips will help you keep control of the horse at all times.

You definitely need to learn horseback riding tips on how to control a horse. Keep calm and mount on the left side of the horse. Grab the horses mane with your left hand which should be holding the reins. The back of the horse should be faced when you take a hold of the stirrup with your right hand. Turn it in your direction and put your left foot in it. Put your right hand on the raised part of the saddle and lift yourself up.

Swing your leg to the back of the horse when you dismount. Keep yourself balanced and firmly grip the saddle to keep from falling. Lower down to the ground with both legs from the left side. Slightly bend your knees.

Keep your heels in a downward position and toe pointed upward when your feet are in the stirrups. Move your weight down into your heels so its easier to keep your legs wrapped around the horse. Make sure the stirrups are the correct length so your knees will bend somewhat.

Keep your arms relaxed as much as you can when youre riding a horse thats walking. This will keep your hand moving forward and backward smoothly as youre following the movements of the horses head. This will allow the horse to move without restrictions from a tight rein.

Loud noises, sudden gestures or swinging objects can frighten a horse. Let them know you are approaching by using low whistling or humming. Never sneak up to a horse and always walk up to them slowly.

Many horseback riding tips relate to how the animal communicates. It is good to learn what your horse is saying through their body language. This way you can communicate with them better. Horses use their ears, tail, eyes and posture to tell you what they want. Understanding this communication will build trust between you and your horse.

What is The New Samsung LN40A650 40" HDTV?

By Christopher dArgy

When it comes to Checking the latest news, weather, sports, and stock market information, wouldn't it be easier to have access from the comfort of your home HDTV? With the click of a button your Samsung LN40A650 LCD TV has access to the new InfoLink RSS service via an Ethernet port! How do they do it? Through the use of a digital contents management guide capable of Internal and external content.

The Samsung series 6&7 LCD HDTV's are becoming the future of the home entertainment hub. Employing technologies unique to Samsung, they provide a 4m response time and take the connectivity and networking capabilities to a whole new level. Also providing rich picture quality for the new ability to enjoy external sources such as MPEG and JPEG files through the side mounted USB port. The series 7 makes the multimedia experience worthwhile allowing users to also connect their MP3 players and take advantage of the updated woofer provided.

With and clear anti-glare shield, and it's natural black panel, the Samsung LN40A650 makes the light-diffusing plastic face used by traditional LCD's obsolete, while enhancing the clarity of picture in a way previously not thought possible. The Samsung LN40A650 TV's secret sauce to create more vivacious and brighter pictures lies in the naturally reduced reflection.

The whitest whites and the blackest blacks are made possible when you utilize the Dynamic Contrast Ratio option. Contrast and Brightness are by far the two most crucial components for picture quality, and this TV has left the competition behind! In short Samsungs LN40A650 40 inch produces rich quality pictures with live vibrant color!

Taking 60Hz and making it 120Hz, without repeating frames, can be pretty daunting task unless you have the Samsung LN40A650. This intelligent TV calculates and inserts the "middle" frame to lessen the blurriness which is common in action sequences in films. Many HDTV's today can't handle the jump from frame 1 to frame 2 without a slight blur; but when you have the Auto Motion Plus 120HZ processor like the Samsung LN40A650, it places a halfway frame between 1 & 2 creating a crystal clear picture. Fluidity between frames gives you a viewing experience that is smooth, and uninterrupted, and will change the way you look at HDTV.

Deeper more vibrant blacks and intensely live color is the result in the revolutionary Super Clear Panel Technology that can be found in the Samsung LN40A650. HD signals from enhanced films optimize off-centered viewing and reduce the glare that it can cause.

Subtlety of the Touch of Color is a key element in not disrupting your home's decor whether the Samsung's LN40A650 is being watched or not.

My recomendation, the Samsung LN40A650 is a great addition to any home and is the leader in home audio and visual technology. Read on for more details.

Quices

By Ian Nathaniel

In the olden days it was thought that walnuts could only be grown as tall standard trees, but latterly there has been a move to produce them as bush trees and I had seen a number growing satisfactorily in gardens. Because the flowers of walnuts are so easily ruined by frost, it is vital to plant where they will have the maximum of protection in the spring. It only takes 2 degrees of frost to ruin the female flowers. Plant, preferably, in a nice well-drained soil with a fair lime content. Be sure to mulch the trees with compost after planting in a ring 3 feet wide. Buy grafted trees and plant one tree and no more (in a garden) early in the winter. Each March apply meat and bonemeal all over the soil where the walnuts are growing, at the rate of 2 oz. to the sq. yard.

In the autumn the fruits turn a golden yellow colour and these add beauty and interest to the garden also. A Quince adds a particularly delicious flavour to an apple tart, while of course the fruits are used for jams and jellies. The quince grows perfectly happily on its own roots.

Don't attempt to prune nuts severely in the winter or the wood the trees will bleed badly. Don't prune the trees any time between Christmas and May. One of the big problems in connection with walnuts is that which concerns the male catkins. Very often these do not appear early enough in the life of a tree. Secondly, there are varieties which bear their male flowers long before the female. It is therefore a good thing to plant a pollinator which will produce plenty of male catkins.

These are so called because they are round like a cherry and are usually red. They have been given the name Myrobalan, though the modern botanists class them as Prunus serasifera.

Because the cherry-like fruits are available in July they are welcomed by the housewife.

Sometimes quinces tend to over-crop and then they give a breakdown harvest one year and nothing the next. Under these circumstances, it is better to thin out the fruits by 50 per cent when they are the size of a walnut. The actual harvesting of the quinces need not be done until November, and if the fruit is -to be stored it must not be put into the same room as apples or pears or it is apt to impose its flavour on the latter. It is quite easy to keep quinces for two or three months in boxes filled with bran or clean sawdust, on their own.

Larry Bird

By Denise I Smithson

Larry Joe Bird was born on December 7, 1956 in West Baden Springs, Indiana to parents Joe and Georgia and was raised in nearby French Lick. Excelling at Basketball at an early age, Larry attended Springs Valley High School and became his team's all-time leading scorer; he graduated in 1974. Perhaps no one knew the greatness of Larry Bird or that his name would be forever synonymous with basketball but his high school efforts landed him a scholarship to the University of Indiana-a premonition of things to come.

Coming from a small town, Bird felt a little out of place at the immense campus of the Hoosiers and wanted to drop out right away. Once satisfied with his decision to leave, he took a year off and then enrolled at Indiana State becoming part of their Sycamore team. Here he began to show true promise and in 1979 as a senior, Bird led his team to the NCAA Championship game where they faced the Michigan State Spartans. Another future legend, Magic Johnson, was a Spartan team member and it was at this first game the two would meet, but certainly not the last time these two forwards would play against each other. Indiana finished its year with a 33-1 record giving Larry a place in the school's history. When he left Indiana State, he left with a 30.3 points per game average and was the fifth-highest scorer in NCAA history-quite the accomplishment for the three-year only player.

Larry Bird was the number one draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 1979 - he joined the team, earning a then-record of $650,000 annually. He averaged 21.3 points per game with the team and won a NBA Rookie of the Year award. Bird led the Celtics to a 61-21 record and himself to great popularity with Boston's fans.

By 1980, the Celtics moved their playing court into the Robert Parrish Center and drafted Kevin McHale. These two men would become what have been dubbed the "best frontline in NBA history." The 1980-81 seasons saw the Celtics go to the NBA finals where they took down the Houston Rockets in six games-this would be Larry's first NBA Championship-but not his last. Larry was a leader and this was seen by general manager Red Auerbach, who happily watched his team become one of the two most exciting and winning teams in the NBA during the 1980's. In fact, almost every NBA final would feature either the Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers, or both.

Now at master playmaker, Celtic's coach Bill Fitch gave Larry the nickname "Kodak." Of this nickname, Fitch explained, "it's for his ability to picture how a play would unfold. He can turn a play into points." Bird's defense was also recognized and one season saw 59 triple-doubles in the regular season and ten more in the playoffs-his tallies for the 1981-82 year would reach the double digits. In the 1982-83 season the Celtics would revamp their team again when KC Jones was announced as coach and guard Dennis Johnson was acquired-this would set the stage for a winning team that would last for several years.

The end of the 1983-84 season brought victory to Bird and his Celtic teammates with a seven-game series and win over the Lakers; they won the seventh game in a close but exciting 111-102 score. Larry averaged 27 points and 14 rebounds during this amazing series and won the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the NBA's regular season MVP for the 1983-84 season. A loss to the Lakers in the 1984-85 season still brought Larry the NBA's MVP award. Fans of basketball everywhere still feel the match-up of Bird versus Magic was and is the best match-up in basketball and the most exciting to watch.

The Celtics returned to finals once again in the 1985-1986 season; they defeated the Houston Rockets in six games and finished with a 76-15 record for the year. Bird again won the series MVP in this, his third NBA championship victory with an average of 24 points per game, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. This year also saw him winning the league MVP award, the third player to do so. Bird's Celtics would also come out on top in the finals the next year, beating the Lakers in six games. Bird, like his rival Magic Johnson was becoming synonymous with the game of basketball.

The 1987-88 statistically, was Larry's biggest season where he averaged 29.9 points per game playing 39 minutes per game with a .527 field goal percentage and a .916 free-throw percentage. After a bone-spur operation, Larry returned to the Celtics for the 1989-90 season but sadly, even Larry knew, it may be time to retire. He joined Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan, among others playing on the 1992 US Olympic Dream Team where they won gold and his place in destiny was set in stone. Throughout his stoic career Larry played 13 years and averaged more than 24 points per game, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. He had a career field goal average of 49.6% and was at an 88.6% on free throws. Perhaps his biggest statistic was his 37.6% three-pointers or perhaps it was his twelve All-Star games-whatever the reason, Larry Bird is synonymous with basketball and will forever be in the hearts of basketball fans

The Geyser of Calistoga

By Ian Kleine

The Geyser of Calistoga, dubbed the Old Faithful of California had been faithfully belching out steam and scalding vapor ever since man had first witnessed this miniature wonder of the world.

Geysers act like heat driven fountains. You have an underground river (cool or not, its still the same) that touches super hot rocks (usually from a magma source). The ensuing pressure from the steam and superheated water causes the whole thing to shoot up via a small nozzle-like feature from the ground. And this is how geysers happen.

California's Old Faithful is one of the three geysers in the world that have an internal clock inside of them. They are able to shoot out their deadly steam at timed intervals (this one has a set interval of 45 minutes, while the one in Yellow Stone had an interval of 80 minutes). Magma location, precipitation and the stream that flows into the chamber (an earthquake might break or improve the fountain's height and length of gushing).

The geyser has its own park, is fenced off to protect the public and to at least get some profit. The geyser has been marked as a must-see attraction when passing by the Napa Valley. Most of the visitors that came here to see and taste the wine, often make a stop here to enjoy the sight of a large, gushy, geyser.

In a nearby sectio, there are llamas and fainting goats to keep you company if you had the bad luck of entering the park just as the geyser had stopped gushing. 45 minutes of boredom is hard. And when you do hit the 45 minute mark, you have 20 seconds to enjoy the buzzy, aerial hydro-ejaculation. Miss it, and 45 minutes of anguish again. Droll.

The performance time of the geyser today has been influenced by the non-rain. Hopefully, with the rainy season, we could gain a few more seconds with the geyser's gushy-gushy.

Japanese Matsuri: Arizona

By Ian Kleine

Did you know? Arizona has been hosting the Japanese Matsuri for almost 25 years now!

Matsuri is 'festival' in Japanese, so it would be semantically wrong to dub the festival as 'the Matsuri festival.' The Matsuri of Arizona is a very extensive festival to celebrate the culture of the Land of the Rising Sun in American Soil. And what a very extensive festival it is.

They have tons, and I mean, TONS of events. They have the famous Kyo Rei Taiko Kai, or the beating of the Japanese drums. The ondo, or the japanese folk dance in the streets. There is also the modern "J-Rock" fest, more drummers and even hands-on demos for the interested individual. Very exotic and very nice to look at. It's an explosion of music and dancing for the whole day.

There's also the Budokai, which is nihonggo for martial arts tournament. It is a highly interesting competition open for all forms of martial arts. There are displays of katana drawing (shinkendo), spear play (naginata jutsu), and fencing (kendo). Hopefully, by the next few festivals, they could include other forms of weaponry like the Japanese bow, or those cool ninja stars and sickle-chains. I have always wondered about those ever since I was a wee little.

For the kids, there is the cosplay (kosupure) or costume play, organized by the local comics organization. While the older folks can have a hand with the weapons and drums, the kids can do well with their favorite anime characters coming to life (made by fans, for fans).

The event lasts for two days, but each hour is packed with enough events to make you go Japanese. It's highly organized, and the publicity is good. Tourists in Arizona are advised to join in the festivities, if not for the sights and then at least for the sounds. I'm sure everyone will love it.

Car Insurance Tips for Young Drivers

By Tom Martens

One of the big days in a teenager's life is the day they get their driver's license. But with that passport to adulthood comes tremendous responsibilities. Every newly licensed driver?in fact, anyone seeking to become a licensed driver?must arrange for adequate auto insurance coverage.

But car insurance for teen drivers can be very expensive. Teen drivers are considered high risk drivers due to their inexperience, which means they can expect to pay high rates for their insurance premiums. Don?t let that stop you from earning your driver?s license, though. With careful planning, teen drivers can find ways to save money on car insurance.

The first thing a teen driver needs to do is to get several quotes. These quotes should come from licensed insurance providers. Different companies define teenage risk in different ways, which means one company may charge you a lot while another company may only charge you a little. There is a lot of competition in the insurance trade, and an insurer who knows you are talking to a competitor, might, just might, be willing and able to offer you a lower premium. But you have to ask, and you have to be willing to negotiate. Fortunately, the Internet makes doing insurance research and shopping for premiums a lot easier than it used to be.

If you haven?t done so already, look into taking a basic or defensive driving course. These courses show insurance providers that you are serious about safety behind the wheel, and this makes insurance providers more likely to lower your risk level when assessing your driving record for an insurance premium. Talk to a qualified insurance provider about what courses are available and what courses are eligible for an insurance discount.

Ask your agent if your company offers discounts to good students or students belonging to a club or organization. See if they extend a discount if your parents belong to a club or organization. Inquire about other possible discounts. This is where it's helpful to check on the net before you see your agent.

If your parents have additional insurance policies, such as home or life, see if they will ask the insurance provider to bundle the policies. Many providers often give big discounts to customers who purchase more than one insurance policy from them. Check to see if the insurance provider offers discounts for multiple drivers from the same household. This is another way to obtain great savings on your car insurance premiums.

You should be fully informed about insurance (and, usually, fully insured) before you take your driving test. You authorized insurance agent can answer any questions you have and make you get all the coverage you need. You will have to take some time to do your research, but the money you will save on your premiums will make the effort worthwhile.

How can a Blog Help

By Jeff Lorenz

Before you send your child to a summer camp it is a good idea to get a good feeling about a particular camp. Checking out a camp blog can help. Here are just a few things you might find at Swift Nature Camp's Blog.

Jef & Lonnie Lorenz, are Directors of Swift Nature Camp a Non-competitive, Traditional coed overnight summer camp in Wisconsin. Boys and Girls Ages 6-15. enjoy Nature, Animals & Science along with adventure camping.

We at Swift Nature Camp believe that your child's safety is the most important part of camp. That is why we have a strict Lifejacket rule. Everyone must wear a PDF when in a boat. No exceptions, staff and campers alike. THis is true if on a river canoe trip or on on our own camp lake. Water is so much fun and kids love it but it is dangerous and we must be prepared. We even have a special "titanic test" to ensure that our lifejacket fits nice and snug in case of an emergency. Campers learn this the first day of camp.

Catching frogs from camps own beaver pond is a huge camp sport at Swift Nature Camp. it is a challenge too. The big Bull Frogs put up a big battle to free them selves. We even have a favorite bull from the biggest meanest frog of them all JIMBO. Yes he is our mascot and is pictured on this page. Catching frogs is one of favorite things to do at this children's summer camp. One of the best hunting spots is the lamp poles at night. You see the frogs come up from the pond at night looking for food and all the bugs hanging around the light will do just fine. One might wonder are you eating all these favorite catches. Nope they gan spend on night up at the Nature Center Zoo where they hang with the other animals anc catches then its back to where they were caught at. Next summer, join us for some serious frog catching.

The Russell W. Hogrefe Fresh Start Fund was established by Russell W. Hogrefe during his tenure as Executive Director of the American Camp Association, Illinois Section. He served in that position from 1979 until his retirement in 1996. Russ spent his entire professional career providing children's summer camp and other services to families with very low income. Teachers, social workers, counselors or other professionals refer campers. ACA Illinois Section staff and the person making the referral select an appropriate day or resident camp program. Camps must be accredited by the American Camp Association. The camper's family is encouraged to pay whatever they can afford for the camping experience. The camp provides a partial campership and the Fund pays the balance. If you would like to donate fund to help an underprivileged child attend summer camp in 2009 please send a check or make an online donation. Summer camp is an experience that enriches lives and all children should have the opportunity to attend kids summer camp. To learn how Swift Nature Camp can help your child attend camp visit our website.

We at Swift realize the importance that campers feel special while at camp. That is why we have created a special First Timer program for children who have never been to camp. Our goal is to help children feel self confident while quite possibly being your child's first extended time away from home. We do this by having extra staff on hand for each and every camper needs. We are extremely proud of the fact that during Discovery Camp we limit each cabin size to only 8 campers with 2 staff members. That's only 72 campers (ages 6-12) and 26 staff members ! We also have an Orientation Day, when campers not only get a tour of the camp, complete with a visit to the Health Center and the Mail Box, but also go to each activity area learning about safety in that activity. Within the cabin our staff works hard to promote a nurturing and harmonious friendships. This starts with a Respect List for all to agree to and sign and each night ends with a bedtime story. Due to the fact that all campers are new to this camp they are all on equal ground right from the start. We encourages each child to learn independence in a safe, age appropriate non-competitive environment. Our twelve day program is the perfect length of time for your first time camper to gain autonomy, leaving their homesickness behind, and feeling comfortable with their new-found independence. For many campers the greatest lesson camp teaches is that they can leave home, return days later and very few things will have changed, especially your love for them. Swift Nature Camp's Discovery Program is the perfect match for any camper that's a little concerned about leaving home for the first time. Read More at DISCOVERY CAMP. Airsoft Gaming Rules

By MJ Erwin

There are six primary rules that must be followed in any airsoft games.

If the gear or body is hit, the player is out. Hits to the weapon do not count. When the player is hit, he yells out "I'm hit" and raises his arms up high. After hit the player must walk straight to the safe zone. Friendly fire does count as a hit. After hit, talking to other players is not allowed.

No noticeable markings are left by the pellets, unlike in paintball, so honour system is often used to determine who has been hit. The pellet's impact usually is felt, but at times, when over a great distance, or when the player is distracted or moving, the player may not feel the hit, thus marshals or referees are needed in the game.

The major forms of airsoft games are:

Team Death Match. Two teams play to eliminate each other out. Players keep track of the number of their kills and at the end of the game, teams must combine the number of their kills. Whoever got the most kills wins.

Capture the Flag. Teams must retrieve their opponent's flag. Whichever team manages to bring the opposing team's flag to their base wins.

Assassination. Two teams must select a captain. The captain is tied to an immobile object such as trees or fence. The aim of the game is to eliminate the other team's captain.

King of the Hill. One team will be defending the hill, while the other the attacks it. The game ends when the base is successfully defended, or if the attackers overcome the hill.

Players may use their own airsoft guns, magazines and armours and other game essentials, but there are also game scenarios when the materials to be used are provided. These guns fire non-metallic bullets either through spring power, compressed gas or electric means.

Spring-powered guns function by pulling back back the slide (pistols), bolt (rifles), or the grip on a shotgun, compressing the spring and makes the gun fire a single shot. One major advantage of using this type is that it does not depend on an external source of power, unlike the gas and electric models.

Electric guns come in many forms such as automatic and hybrid guns types. Electric-powered guns work using a rechargeable battery, driving internal motors to shoot a pellet.

Gas-powered guns, or "classic airsoft guns", use a burst of C02 gas to power the gun's mechanism, enabling the gun to fire in a fully automatic mode.

Getting The Good Movies Online

By Charles Timet

This is a sampling of the more popular movies put up on the big screen in 2008. I have chosen a few of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. I hope you find a couple of movies that you will enjoy.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Heavy pot smoker Dale Denton unfortunately has just witnessed a bad police officer and the local drug king pin, murder someone. The killers know he has seen the crime. Understanding that he has been seen, he is so shaken he throws down his joint, a rare blend named pineapple express, and takes off. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can trace it. The game is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are on the run.

FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL: After suffering a devastating break up with long time girlfriend Sarah, an actress in a cheesy sitcom, Peter decides to escape to a Hawaiian resort to recover from his depression. Obviously, upon checking into the resort, he looks up and sees his ex girlfriend and her new lover, a rock star super stud. This movie has all the ingredients of a classic romantic comedy.

BOLT: Bolt: This film is an animated family comedy. The star is dog actor Bolt, who in his TV show, has super hero dog powers. His problem is that he is convinced he has superpowers. After he is unexpectedly finds himself in a real world situation, he realizes that he is only a normal dog. Now, trying to get back home, he finds help, in the form of Mittens, the cat, and Rhino, the hamster.

THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and Lt. Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Things are going very well, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and things get a lot worse. Now, Batman really has his hands full, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released his criminal insanity on Gotham City.

MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As I'm sure you know, this is the next edition to the box office hit Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Gloria (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) are trying to get back to the Central Park Zoo, from their first adventure. Instead, as the Penguins are up to their old tricks, they are heading off to Africa instead.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the tale of Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who has been transformed into the Hulk. The movie is about the marvel universe comic super hero the green Hulk. Actors Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liz Tyler play key roles in this film. This film is directed by Louis Leterrier. The film genre is action based.

ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink sales people, are facing jail time after destroying the company vehicle while binging. The only way to avoid jail time is to work in community service for 150 hours. The problem is they will need to mentor some kids in a big brother type situation. The stage is set for some good comedy.

STEP BROTHERS: When two children like older men, who each live with their single parents, will now have to live in the same room because their parents have wed, we see that they are bound to have problems. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell acting as these two idiots, and this seems to be a great recipe for lots of laughs. This comedy looks like a sure fire bet if your looking for some laughs.

TROPIC THUNDER: Overloaded with good actors we find ourselves watching a classic parody of popular war films. In order to inspire his super star cast to create a quality war film, the seemingly bold director into the wild, leaving them to fend for themselves. His plan is to frighten them so they will produce a work of genius, which hidden cameras will capture. When the director dies unexpectedly by stepping on a real land mine, the actors are now truly on their own, and they think there acting, but the bullets flying are actually real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.

Most people buy or rent films, and view them on their home entertainment system. An increasingly popular way to get movies is by using down loading technologies off websites. Online providers have websites that will download tons of different movies.

How to Grow Peach Trees

By Joshua Ethan

The trees are about 12 feet high, like single-stemmed cordons, from which grow out one- and two-year-old lateral shoots.

There is no doubt at all that it does not pay to disturb the roots of peaches regularly. Therefore, one must sow the land down to grass quite early, especially as this fruit seems to make the least demand (of any grown in this country), on the soil water. Peaches can undoubtedly be grown on the straw mulch system as advised for blackcurrants or in small gardens could just be mulched with sedge peat, say, as far as the branches spread.

This will undoubtedly mean pruning back into the two-year- old wood. The one-year-old shoots themselves will also be reduced by about half to an upward pointing bud. If the tree is properly mulched and the ground is in good heart it should throw out plenty of nice young shoots which in their turn will be pruned the following April. Each year, in April, the idea is to cut out the older hardwood so as to encourage the production. of plenty of young growths on which the fruits are borne. The centre of the bush will be kept open and the sides will be thinned out.

The gardener will aim all the time at keeping the branches off the ground, for they always seem to tend to droop. If one can keep the bushes growing all the time, then they never look unhealthy. If you happen to take over a garden where the peaches are dying back, where the foliage is yellow, and where gumming is taking place, then it is advisable to cut out three or four main branches quite hard, so as to encourage new growth. Your aim should be the cup-shaped bush of a pin-cushion shape.

It is true that there are aphides which will curl the leaves and damage the blossoms, but these can easily be controlled by spraying the trees with a 5 per cent solution of a tar- oil wash in December. This will also kill Peach Leaf Scale, should this appear. Red spider sometimes does damage, causing the leaves to turn brown in the summer, but spraying with liquid derris overcomes the trouble very quickly. The big trouble is the Peach Leaf Curl, which causes the leaves to become swollen, red and twisted.

The peach which has been most successful with out of doors is Peregrine, though Rochester is quite a good second. Some popular peach varieties are Amsden June. An American variety which does not ripen in this country until mid-July. More suited for a wall than for planting in the open. Bears creamy white fruits of medium size with a crimson to purple flush. Flavour good but the stone seems to cling to the flesh until it is fully ripe. If a butter-muslin bag is put over each fruit, the peaches can then fall into the bag when fully ripe, and then they are of good flavour. Season mid-July; Bellegarde. I grow this on a wall and it is a very fine flavour but it does not ripen, at Thaxted, until late in September, though in some areas it is ready early that month; Duke of York. I had not grown this at Thaxted but it does well out of doors at Sawbridgeworth when grown by Mr. T. H. Rivers. It makes a large tree-the fruit is melting and refreshing. The peaches are of a rich crimson, if the foliage does not shade them. Season Aug; Hale's Early. Another American peach which is very attractive when grown, but which is sometimes too small even when thinned. Season Aug; Rochester. Does well in Kent. It ripens in the middle of August, producing good-size fair fruits of yellow-fleshed quality. Season mid-Aug; Peregrine. The best of the varieties for out of doors. Is generally free from disease, produces large brilliant crimson fruits, with delicious juicy firm flesh. Season early Aug.

Cheap Car Insurance -- The Best Car

By Chimezirim Odimba

Are there things that can make it very easy to get affordable auto insurance? Yes! Here are things to bear in mind when shopping for your next car.

1. You'll pay less if you car has a higher safety rating. Safety features should be given top consideration when shopping for a new car. You'll be eligible for a Safe Vehicle discount if your car has such features.

2.Some vehicles are very expensive to insure. So as you check out the exceptional specs of the car you want to buy don't forget to find out how much it typically costs to insure. Two factors that will make you pay more for auto insurance are a car's crash rating and theft rate.

Furthermore, it will also take much more to insure a car that is more costly to maintain or repair. Asking the right questions will make it easy for you to avoid the "wrong" car and get more affordable rates.

3. There are many anti-theft or theft-deterrent devices like alarm systems, automatic gas cut-off system and so on. The risk of theft is an important factor that goes a long way to determine your rate. And since these reduce such a risk, you'll attract a good discount for them. Cars without such devices are easy targets for thieving rats.

4. If you have collision and/or comprehensive for an old car which is not a classic, then you're paying much more than you should. The reason for this is that insurers base your compensation on what is called the Kelly Blue Book value at any given point in time. This means that not minding how much you paid and for how long you did, you may get absolutely nothing if the book says it's not worth anything by the time you make a claim.

So do yourself a favor and remove this coverage types from your policy for all old cars. Doing this will save you much and not compromise you in any way.

5. You can get better rates on auto insurance today by visiting at least five quotes sites. Each quotes site will require about 5 minutes or less to request quotes. (Some people give details that is not quite correct about themselves. That isn't a smart move since the quotes you'll get this way won't be of any use to you).

You'll have to select the best auto insurance quote for you from the list of quotes received. It's as simple as that. But you could easily save hundreds of dollars.

How to get a Free Line Rental Deal

By Saundra Eakes

Have you ever heard of a free line rental mobile deal? Chances are you have not, as they are pretty obscure!

Ok, so what is a 12 Months Free Line Rental deal? A free line rental deal is one which offers you a free phone, free text messages and free calls for a full 12 months. In short, a cost free mobile phone!

By now you will have smelled a rat, it is not possible for retailers to give away free phones on free 12 month contracts and still make a profit, is it?

So, here is where it gets complex! With a free line rental deal you actually have to pay your phone bill as normal for the first 6 months or so. So, at this point it is not 12 months free line rental at all!

Later on in the contract, the retailer will give you the chance to make a claim for cash back from them. This cash back is what actually covers the cost of the mobile phone contract. Once you get that money back from the phone retailer, you will have got your phone cost free for 12 months.

So how do the retailers make money? Surely retailers lose money on free line rental deals? Absolutely, but, only if the customer successfully makes their claim for cashback! If the customer forgets to make that claim, then they end up paying their line rental as normal, and the retailer makes their money. You see, it is a battle of wits!

To reduce the number of people making a successful claim, retailers insist that you submit your claim on a particular date hoping you will forget! They also insist that you produce documentation such as phone bills, which they hope you will lose! By putting trips and clauses like these into free line rental deals retailers make sure that enough customers fail to get their cash back for them to make a profit. So, only by you failing to claim can the retailer make their money!

So, yes, 12 month free deals are too good to be true, but, they are also possible to exploit. It is possible to out smart the retailers and get that elusive 12 month free contract, but you have to be determined.

If you take out a free line rental deal, just make sure that you organise yourself. That you know when you have to make your claim, and that you also know where all the necessary paperwork is!

Many times traveling during the off season is a great way to save money when you want to take a vacation.

Wood dcor, like wooden planks for flooring and rough hewn timbers lend a rustic feel to cottages and is easy to maintain as well. Keep the accessories inside the cottage to the minimum accessories. Stuffing the cottage with a lot of stuff can make it look stuffed and suffocating.Last but not the least, decorating cottages with memorabilia, and antiques lends it an old world charm and unmakes you want to get back to it more often.

It may be the height of luxury to go full-board, but you are somewhat restricted to set meals on such a package. More people are opting for self-catering, which usually take the form of guest apartments or holiday homes.

Growing Peach Trees

By Austin Thomas

It is useful to have the tree planted in a lawn because then sheets or clothes can be laid under the tree on to which the fruit can drop when fully ripe.

It is important to mulch where the drainage is perfect, because one cannot water once the fruit is set or split stones result. Those who dislike straw mulching, or grassing down, do so because it increases the frost risk. It is curious the way that damage can be done to peaches early in May by frosts, though the peaches normally flower early in April.

Generally speaking, if the land is in good heart, it is not necessary to apply the dried blood until the bush trees start to slow down in growth. This may happen quicker on the grass system than it does on the straw system and I had used, for peaches in grass, cocoa shell at 4 oz. to the sq. yard. It is not a dear organic fertilizer and it has given good results when applied in February.

It is usual to put such trees out into the garden in the winter and to bring them into the cold house in March.

My friend Mr. Giles Tuker, who has an excellent fruit farm at Danbury, Essex, grows his peaches on Brompton Stocks and they are very successful. He has gravelly soil there and the bushes have grown large. Incidentally, he prunes these bushes on the spur system, rather like the Italians.

Several choice varieties of nectarines are Early Rivers. Probably the best early nectarine-a greenish yellow covered with brilliant scarlet. Flesh tender, juicy and rich flavoured. Season mid-July; Elruge. One of the hardiest of the nectarines and so very popular. Bears greenish white fruits with a purplish red flush. These are delicately perfumed. Season late Aug; Humboldt. A very beautiful variety both when in bloom and when the fruit is ripening. A later flowerer and so useful in frosty spots. Fruits orange with a deep crimson flush. Flesh juicy, tender and golden. Season mid-Aug; Joini Rivers. Probably the earliest of the outdoor nectarines. Produces large fruits, golden yellow colour coupled with darker stripes of a crimson flush. Season mid-July; Lord Napier. A great favourite of mine because it is a regular cropper, producing large, extremely delicious rich-flavoured fruits. These are pale yellow with a deep browny, crimson flush. Season early Aug; Pineapple. Only recommended for the southern and southwestern gardens. The fruits are large, greeny yellow with a crimson- red flush. The flesh is melting and has a slight pineapple flavour. Season early Sept; Violette Hative. One of the oldest varieties known which my French friends claim is the best. The nectarine is smaller than any other of the varieties and with a good flavour. It should do well in the south and south-west. Season mid.-Aug.

Why You Can't Afford Not To Get A Deal inThis Economic Crisis

By Alexandra Vrugt

Everywhere you go, there is something that you can buy for cheap. We see these "deals" published all over the place. They can be spotted on billboards, on the internet, and on those weekly newspaper specials that we get in our mailboxes. It's great to see what is supposed to be a special on something because it helps us to know the true worth of an item. This is how one can figure out the "actual" price when it's buy it. But, for every advertised special there are a ton of other specials that exist for someone to buy for cheap, just about anything that they want...if they would only ASK!

Asking for a bargain is a basic part of life in some cultures. They know that there is always a way to buy for cheap, so they never expect to pay the list price. The world is in an economic crisis and so asking for a cheaper price is definitely more acceptable and widely used for saving, cost comparisons, and to get the absolutely best buy. Cheapest is always best in these economic times. Try your hand at asking for bargains when you need these things

1. Motels and Hotels - The hospitality industry is known for always having some type of deals going on. You can get the best buy, cheapest price, and best rooms by doing something as basic as asking for them. Managers want to sell off all of the space that they have available, and even though there are internet specials and advertised discounts, they are often willing to offer even more breaks for those that ask for them.

2. Restaurants - There is almost always a "house special" going on at a restaurant. Always make a point of asking whether there are any in-house discounts available when dining out. Some of the national pizza chains also offer unpublished in-house specials that you can get only if you ask for them. You can expect to receive anything from 2-for-1 deals to deeply discounted menu items. On rare occasions, restaurants may even allow you to double up on deals, which could allow you to get your meal practically free.

3. Airline and car rentals - Priceline.com is a fabulous website for finding low prices and for setting your own price for travel. The key to using this service is to put the lowest price ever, even if sounds absolutely absurd, and work your way up. Don't just assume that the airlines or car rental agencies won't go for your low-ball price. They just may, but you will never know if you don't try it. Of course, calling directly is a great way to get to those unpublished offers. Like the hospitality industry, when airlines and car rental agencies are experiencing lows, they are more apt to give you on-site discounts. For these, you may need to speak, face-to-face with an agent or manager. You can expect discounts from 10% to upgrades and possibly free future travel or rentals.

4. Telecommunication Companies - We all see the ads everywhere, but the real deals are available by communicating directly with the company that you want to give your business to. All that you have to do is call them, ask about the possibility of combining your services into a package deal, and watch them come up with a package to fit in your family's budget.

It's only natural to ask for the things that we want in life. Why not use asking as purchasing power also? The deals abound and your family can experience the saving, cost reductions, and perks that one can expect simply by making an effort to ask.

What Airlines Don't Let You Carry On

By CheapX

Whether you like it or not, there are many things you shouldn't (can't) bring on board an airplane. Some are due to the TSA, some are because of airline restrictions but in either case, no is no. Here are a whole bunch of things you shouldn't bring.

Don't bring anything like bats or golf clubs on board. The airlines don't want you to get mad and be in danger of others and I can't blame them. Also, something like golf clubs don't fit in the overheads anyway and it might snap.

Explosives are not allowed. I think there's no more explanation needed for this.

If you bought a knife set for your wife, it's best that it stays in the box and be in your luggage because customs won't allow you to bring it on board. Anything sharp is not allowed and even razors and scissors aren't.

Anything flammable is not good either. Basically, if you see that skull with two bones that forms a cross at the bottom, just keep them away from anything flight related.

Even toy guns are not allowed. They don't want any questions about whether it's real or not so they just said "no" to any type of guns.

There's probably not much reason to bring ammunition but if you need to, maybe it's best to just mail (fedex or UPS) them to your destination. They aren't that expensive since they are small and light anyway and you will save yourself so much hassle and time.

Lighters and matches are also not allowed (nor is fireworks). There's no smoking in the cabins nowadays anyway so just keep them in your luggage to avoid any potential hassle (or worst yet, needing to throw them away)

Donate Your Car

By fred frung alfred solk greta gunto preston friedheim vitaly sonnborn

You have fallen in love with a brand-new car. The only problem is that you won't have room in your driveway for a new car until you have disposed of your old one. You could place a classified ad and sell it, and deal with calls from buyers and paying for repairs to the car to make it appealing to a new buyer. You could trade it in at the dealership towards your new car, but you know that the dealer will not give you anywhere near what the car is worth. A local charity has been advertising that they will accept your unwanted car, but you are not sure. Donate your car? Are there benefits to giving up the potential profit on your car's sale to a charity?

Simplicity. Charities that accept car donations are professionals, and have made the donation process as quick and painless as possible. A worker will come to your home; you will sign the car over to the charity, and receive a tax donation receipt for your donation. Then the car will be towed away, and you will have room to park your new car the same day.

Giving feels good. Perhaps you have been considering giving to a cause that you believe in, but have not had the extra money to do so. Donating your car gives you the ability to give a generous donation to the charity of your choice, without emptying your bank account. It is a rewarding feeling to know that your unwanted vehicle can become a means to help someone less fortunate than you.

Put some money in the bank. It might seem counterintuitive, but sometimes giving your car to an organization can also be a good financial choice for you. First of all you won't have to pay to repair and detail your car to sell it or trade it in. You won't have to place costly classified ads, or continue to pay the insurance and registration fees on your car while you await its sale. Finally, come April 15th, you might be surprised by how a car donation can reduce your tax bill, putting a bigger refund in your pocket.

There are advantages and disadvantages in any common method of vehicle disposal. A savvy new car buyer would be well advised to consider each option, including the benefits of car donation.
